Pandemic: The Board Game App Reviews

Just like the original board game

Great deal and great iPad integration of the original board game. For $2.99 a steal though anything more then that keep your money and spend it on the real game that you can play with friends.

Great but frustrating

I would have given this game 5 stars bc its an awesome game, HOWEVER, its extremely frustrating that its impossible to win! The card drawn during the epidemic phase is always drawn right away during the infection stage creating an outbreak right away. That doesnt seem random! I play the actual board game and have strategies for winning so its not like I dont know how to play. It has been so frustrating lately that I dont feel like playing anymore. To win once and awhile would be nice and would at least create a challenge to entice me to play! Has anyone beat the game?? Hoping this is fixed!

Stellar job translating the board game to the iPad!

Just outstanding work, hats off to the development team. Theyve got some mad skills for sure. Everything feels just right, and it feels so slick. Love it!

Hard, but very fun!

This is a great game. Allows you to control all players. The roll tab freezes shut sometimes, but I found if you exit to the main menu then resume it works again. Not a deal breaker but annoying at times. This game is always running on my iPad. Worth the $$$!

Looove it!!!

We have been playing the board game for a few years and just discovered this app! We are hooked! Its so much fun since its just like the board game!! We have had no issues at all and have played many times since we purchased it! Thanks for making our favorite game a wonderful app!!!

Perfectly Executed!

Ive probably played through the base game on this app 15 times now and it is perfect. The game looks great, runs smoothly and is a ton of fun. The tutorial is well done too. Worth it if youve played the game before or not! Please note its not an easy game, but thats what makes it so great. One of my favourite apps!

Too hard

Anything other than the Introductory level is pretty much impossible. The AI throws down too many Outbreaks that "coincidentally" happen to be on maxed-out cities with three disease cubes. Happens way too often. Also dont like that players cant build a research station as an action without having to discard a city card. In the board version you can build a station any time, so why the change?

Disappointed. No network option to play with friends.

The boardgame is coopertive gameplay so i was excited to try the app version and was expecting to play with friends through network like you can via Gamecentre with others but there is no option for that. Doesnt offer multiple players option and even if it did who the heck wants to pass around an ipad meaning the other player has to be physically next to you. Doesnt make sense how they created this app. Visuals are somewhat boring for an app very static. And for an app it is expensive. I have played much better games with stunning visuals at half the price. Was expecting more there, too.

A game worth spreading

I own the base board game and this was my intro to the expansion. The game itself is excellent, with challenges that can be set to please everyone from the novice to the strategy addict. My six year old son finds the introduction level to be tough but fun, and it is the first co-operative strategy game that actually is enjoyable for different types of gamers. Ive played about fifty scenarios so far. Beating legendary is possible, but requires card draws that are just right - hence legendary. The app is stable and has yet to crash or even lag for me. Looking forward to many more games as it has a high degree of replayability, and perhaps another expansion some day.

On The Brink expansion came up short!

The base game plays well, but the On The Brink in app expansion is a complete disappointment! The fact that it doesn’t include the bioterrorist, the infectious strain, or the mutation cards! Just brutal! I felt like it was a complete waste of money spending the extra bit on the expansion. If the missing features are added at no extra cost I’ll change my review.

No online multiplayer

The game itself is pretty good. But the fact that multiplayer is missing from a multiplayer game is inexcusable. Please put in this essential feature into your app and you will receive a five star rating.

Almost perfect

Love it and have been playing constantly but... The music is totally uninspired and repetitive. There is no online play. And I just encountered a bug where Team Info was blank/unavailable on Standard Difficulty with the Expansion.

Just like the board game

...but tougher! I havent won a game yet, but certainly am enjoying trying.

Fun

Great game - love the board game & the app is tougher. The "players info" regularly freezes so I cant open it. If I exit the game and resume it seems to fix it, but its pretty vital to be able to access that in order to win!

Pandemic

The game cheats such as infecting cities underneath the medic. Ive had several games where the medic city is key and an epidemic happens from underneath him. I have never won this app due to inconsistencies in the rules. However when we play the board game we can win. This game is too frustrating to enjoy until they fix these issues. It should not be harder than the board game and impossible to win.

Great app

Perfect rendition of a great game

As good as the board game

As good as the bg, except of course missing the collaboration.

Fun!

I love the board game and the app is excellent, I look forward to more of the expansions being added and hopefully the challenges as well!

Pandemic Review

It is exactly like the board game. Multiplayer would be great but the lack of it does not detract from the game

If you liked the board game, get this app right now!

I promise you will love this app. Just get it if you liked the board game. Amazing! If youre complaining about the lack of computer players, its because you couldnt socialize and "plot" with them. Its also fun to go solo. Also, I feel like the game is rigged a little (even though Ive won this version more than the board game!) in the aspect of: after an epidemic, the city three cubes get placed on often is in the infect cities step, causing an outbreak. Still a stellar game, though.
