This game is brilliant, fun, and hard to beat. I love it!
This may be the ideal way to introduce new players to the rules of Pandemic. The introductory tutorial is quick and straightforward. As a cooperative game, you can actually play this solo and it works fine. Aside from that, the graphics and sound in this game are extremely well done and take advantage of the digital format rather than simply copying the board game art into digital form. The ability to zoom in and out of the map makes it work very well on small screens and on larger screens. The main drawback to hosting a cooperative game on a tablet (or phone) is that it makes it more difficult to collaborate as you would over the real board game.
This is my favorite board game and I was excited to see there was an app. The app game is just as, if not more, fun than the board game with the bg sound and animation. Would be nice to do all the characters and not just 4 at a time
This is a great game, it wonderfully recreates the feel of the board game, I love it. However, the random number generator is NOT random. I lose approximately 60-70% of games I play on the app and that number is closer to 30 - 40% on the real board game. A small complaint, but it is rather annoying because I feel like playing on a higher difficulty setting is not fun since the standard mode is already such a low win percentage for me.
Good game, faithful to the board game version. I did miss an online multiplayer option with chat/voice. I have played Pandemic tabletop and actually bought this app for online play, so I was rather disappointed when there was only a hot seat option.
The latest update made the animations uncomfortably choppy, and somehow they deleted my characters and their turn order. I should be able to pick who goes first!
I love this game, and I enjoy the app conversion, but the new update is very glitchy. Furthermore the requirement of an Internet connection to play the expansions is inexcusable. I will happily update my rating and review if F2Z fixes these things. Edit: bugs fixed, solid game again!
Since the update the app hangs it is stuck in th e download phase and nothing is happening. I no longer can open or use this game. What happened? I have tried to uninstall and reinstall with no luck, it just hangs.
Im an absolute addict of the board game so imagine my delight at discovering this app! I NEED more expansions please and would love it if I could play with friends online. I bought it for my pal in Jakarta but cant play it with him... More, more, more, please!
This game has done an excellent job of recreating the board game experience as a solo-play experience. (I have not tried multi-player, since I dont think that would work well without audio chat.) potential buyers should be aware that the game is processor-intensive and will draw your battery down if you let it. Stay plugged in for this one. But the interface is extremely easy to use and virtually every game feature works well. Also, the electronic version doesnt let you forget the rules or forget whos turn it is (both quite easy to do with the board game). My one complaint with the port is that the game does not let the player decide who moves first. That is a very important decision in the board game, and can actually make the difference in a good start or bad. Id like to see that feature added. Overall, great game! Highly recommended.
Great game. I have the board version also and this is just as fun.
Plays very much like the board game.
Before the viral strain update this game played great. Now is super slow and glitchy.
Works great - faithful to the board game and a universal app. Buy this with expansions. Pass and play is very much appreciated.
They added a rate this game button to the end of game screen, right where main menu used to be. Now I reflexively hit the new button after every game. Very obnoxious and doesnt make me want to give it another try.
Really elegant and pretty exact to the board game. Hope they expand out further to include the other challenges.
This is a near perfect implementation of the board game. Graphics are nice and it plays smoothly. That said, Ive played the board game a fair bit and I just couldnt seem to win very often. Then I noticed little things that would make the difference in winning/losing - perfect distribution of cards for curing, sudden outbreak clusters, epidemic followed by drawing the epidemic. All these can happen in the game but not like this. It just cheats...a lot and it really really takes the fun out of it.
A tremendous amount of work went into this, but I just didnt get the same sinister sound effects and graphics and verbiage of Mumblemumble Inc. It was like watching a stubborn Minecraft slime refuse to die. Ill give it another try, but am not excited.
Really elegant and packed with features, effective UI, shows how much can be done even on a small screen. Developers should be proud - excellent work. Look forward to future releases.
